RUTH KADIRI FINALLY FINDS LOVE

Actress, script writer and movie maker, Ruth Kadiri, is so much in love and have been enjoying it to the fullest.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday urged states owing the West African Examination Council to pay the fees of government-sponsored candidates for the 2014 and 2015 examinations.
The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Linus Okorie (Ebonyi-PDP) and unanimously adopted by the members.
Mr. Okorie expressed concern that over 600,000 candidates risked the threat of their West African Senior School Certificate Examination results being withheld by the council.
WAEC threatened to withhold the results of candidates of unnamed 19 affected states over an alleged four billion naira debt owed the council.

Chief David Onuoha-Bourdex, the Abia-North senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in the April legislative election, told the election petitions tribunal sitting in Umuahia that dead people voted in Ohafia.

In a statement by the WHO, the organisations warned that an acute shortage of meningitis C-containing vaccine threatened to severely limit the world’s ability to minimise the number of people with the disease.
The other three organisations include the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Médecins sans Frontières, and the United Nations Children’s Fund.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a 44-year-old man, Chide Chibude, for attempting to smuggle 1.185kg of cocaine to China.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mitchell Ofoyeju, Head, Public Affairs, NDLEA, on Wednesday in Lagos.
Mr. Ofoyeju said Mr. Chibude was arrested by NDLEA officers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
He said the arrest was effected while the suspect was attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to China where drug trafficking is punishable by death.
According to the statement, the suspect ingested 1.185kg of whitish substances that tested positive to cocaine.
“We discovered from our investigation that the suspect sold his property in Enugu and invested the proceeds in drug trafficking due to wrong counsel from friends.

GROUP GIVES BUDGET OFFICE TWO WEEKS ULTIMATUM TO PUBLISH IMPLEMEMTATION REPORT

The Centre for Social Justice on Wednesday gave the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Bright Okogu, two weeks to publish the Budget Monitoring and Implementation Report, or risk prosecution.

The Abuja-based civil society group working for the promotion of public finance management and fiscal governance reforms accused the Federal Ministry of Finance of violating the fiscal responsibility law by refusing to publish the report as at when due.
The reports for the third and fourth quarters of 2014 has been overdue for almost seven months, while those of the first and second quarters of 2015 are behind statutory schedule by about 30 days.

NIGERIAN AIRFORCE ANNOUNCES CUTTING BOKO HARAM

The Nigerian Air Force has announced that its patrol and surveillance activities have succeeded in blocking routes through which petroleum products and other materials are supplied to the extremist Boko Haram sect.

JAMB TO RE-DISTRIBUTE CANDIDATES WITH LOWER SCORES TO OTHER UNIVERSITIES

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said it will re-distribute candidates who scored above 280 but whose scores are less than cut-off-marks of their first choice universities to needy institutions .
