The civil society also commended Max air, Flynas, Top brass, Medview and Dornier airlines for their strict compliance with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria , NAHCON’s airlift schedule.
The airlines airlifted 64,728 Nigerian pilgrims in 167 flights within 26 days to Saudi Arabia, a statement Sunday by the civil society national coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammed, and publicity secretary, Abubakar Mahmoud, said in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The 2015 airlift started in August 23 and ended September 17 without hitches.
The journalists said there was “significant improvement throughout the outbound airlift compared to previous years.”
“We also task the airlines to replicate such feat during the return journey which is set to commence September 27 according to NAHCON inbound airlift schedule,” the statement said.
Max, Flynas, Donier, Medview, Top brass and Kabo were the six official air carriers appointed for this year’s hajj operation.
Independent Hajj Reporters however tasked the airlines to improve on in – flight services such as feeding, prompt response to pilgrims’ enquiries, information management, timely conveyance of pilgrims’ luggage, among others.
