CASUALTIES AND PANIC OVER OWORONSHIKI EXPLOSION IN LAGOS

Few hours ago, there was an explosion in the Oworonshoki area of Lagos state. the explosion was caused by a cylinder which exploded in the shop which was locked as at the time of the explosion, however no life was lost but two people were seriously injured.

The South West coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this and said: “Fire service and police are trying to find out the cause of the explosion as the shop was locked at the time of explosion.
He said: “We call on the crowd to leave the area entirely. The explosion partly affected a building next to the beer parlour.”

Although, there were rumours that the explosion had claimed lives, but officials of NEMA had already confirmed that it was not a bomb blast which corroborates the information that it was a gas explosion. The emergency body also added that there were no deaths as a result of the gas explosion.
