A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the immediate release of the international passport belonging to former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Mr. Dasuki is standing trial for alleged possession of firearms and money laundering. He denies the charges.
His passport was taken away as part of his bail conditions.
Mr. Dasuki urged the court to release the passport to enable him travel abroad for medical treatment.
After hearing the arguments from the prosecution and defence on Tuesday, the presiding judge, Adeniyi Ademola, said the prosecution failed to show reason why the document should not be released.
He ordered the court registrar to release the passport and allow Mr. Dasuki travel for three weeks, after which he would return the passport.
The judge also added that upon the return of Mr. Dasuki, his bail terms would be changed.
He said Mr. Dasuki would be required to produce a surety or have his counsel issue an undertaking before he is released on bail.
Mr. Dasuki’s counsel, Ahmed Raji, described the judgement as a good one.
“It is only a person with life that can defend himself; a dead man cannot defend himself,” he stated.
The prosecution counsel, Shuaibu Labaran, declined comments.
