Workers’ salaries for the month of October, which remained unpaid at end of the month, will be paid by Tuesday November 3, following the restoration of the computers that crashed as the salaries were about being paid last month, the presidency has said.

The Presidency said the delay was inadvertent, caused by unforeseen technical challenges, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said on Monday.
According to the statement, the President “is seriously concerned about the ordeals of civil servants on account of delayed payment of salaries.”
The statement explained that the happiness and welfare of the people is one of the cardinal objectives of any democratically elected government.
Mr. Shehu also emphasised that President Muhammadu Buhari remained committed to these objectives not only on paper but also in practice.
The statement further thanked Nigerians for their patience and understanding, adding that empathy would be the guiding philosophy of the Buhari administration.
