The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC,
Ibrahim Dasuki-Jalo, has described as “exceptional” President Muhammadu
Buhari’s agenda for the youth.
In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES, the youth leader enjoined the youth to exercise patience and bear with the present administration, saying it was too early for judgement.
While denying media reports that quoted him as saying the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had not carried the youth along, the youth leader assured the Nigerian youth of the president’s resolve to implement policies that have direct bearing on the youth.
“President Buhari has exceptional agenda for the youth. We can’t say his administration had abandoned us because the administration had just begun rolling out its policies and programmes,” he said.
He said the president
has plans to execute the promises he made to the youth as contained in the party’s manifesto, noting that the administration planned to implement the N5,000 social security stipend it promised.
Quoting the manifesto, Mr. Dasuki-Jalo said the APC government would “provide the opportunities for youths to realize, harness, and develop their full potentials and to facilitate the emergence of a new generation of citizens committed to the sustenance of good governance and service to the people and the country.”
On the economy, he said APC leadership would provide sound macro-economic policy environment and preserve the independence of Central Bank of Nigeria.
He said the introduction of Treasury Single Account, TSA, was one of the policies of the present administration that had made a positive impact on the nation’s economy.
Mr. Dasuki-Jalo said the government would provide vocational training, entrepreneurial and skills acquisition scheme for graduates.
