President Muhammad Buhari has approved the promotion of
907 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps to various ranks, the
agency’s Head of Media Relations and Strategy, Bisi Kazeem, has said.
In a statement Saturday, Mr. Kazeem, a corp commander, gave the breakdown of promoted officers as follows:
- Ninety (90) Assistant Corps Commanders promoted to the rank of Deputy Corps Commanders;
- Thirty-five (35) Senior Route Commanders promoted to the rank of Chief Route Commanders;
- Twenty-four (24) Route Commanders promoted to the rank of Senior Route Commanders; and
- Seven hundred and fifty-eight (758) Deputy Route Commanders promoted to the rank of Route Commanders.
Mr. Kazeem quoted the agency’s Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, as expressing gratitude to the President for the approval.
Mr. Oyeyemi, according to Mr. Kazeem, also commended the
performances of the newly promoted officers while encouraging all
officers of the Corps to put in their best in their duties.
“The Corps Marshal is assuring officers of the Corps that
there are more opportunities for promotion in the near future, and is
calling on all officers to work hard and put in a great effort to enable
the Corps achieve its mandate of road traffic crash reduction,” the
statement said.
Mr. Kazeem added that the management of the Corps would
soon assign new job designations to the newly promoted officers in line
with their new ranks.
