After making the announcement that he was
donating his wardrobe allowance to the unpaid workers and widows in Osun
State and Bayelsa State respectively, Senator Ben Bruce was almost
verbally attacked by the Osun government for making light of the
situation.
The Senator has now replied the Rauf Aregbesola-led government that he will not resort to firing back at the dispensation in the state because of the on-going Ramadan period around the world.
He said he was taking the insults will not stop him from helping the people who have been owe of seven months salaries by the Osun state government. He revealed that he was motivated to donate his wardrobe allowance so that the unpaid Muslim workers would have money to break their fast.
“The month of Ramadan is here. Many unpaid workers will fast. With what will they break their fast? I may not be a Muslim, but I respect Islam and I believe that it is wrong for me to respond to any attack during the Holy month of Ramadan. I wish the Muslim Ummah a successful fast."
