“And to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (vs.20) Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,
according to the power at work within us.”
Message: Be A Covering of Love
To know the love of Christ enables us to flow in His love. A love that surpasses knowledge, including our knowledge of people. His love is unconditional, there’re no conditions tied to His ability to love people. When we grasp this knowledge, our love for people wouldn’t be tied to conditions. Its in such knowledge that we become filled with the fullness of God.
In the passage, most of us are familiar with vs.20, but we ought to understand that “Him” being referred to is the fullness of God, which we are filled with when we are able to flow in love. “Him” is Christ, who is able to do the miraculous according to the power (His Spirit) at work within us. So the miraculous is fueled by love. We can’t flow in the power of God if we don’t operate in His love. To be effective for His Glory is to be a covering of love.
I pray our ability to extend a hand to another goes beyond our knowledge of them. That we become coverings of God’s love, so through us He would do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think for the building of His people.
