There is still serious tension in the air after the
shocking murder of Kunle Mamora popularly known as Mammok, on Thursday,
October 1st, 2015.
Mamok, who is a close aide of the Oshodi chapter chairman of the National Union of Road Transport
Workers, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, was killed in Mosaku Street where he had gone to cut his hair.
There are speculations that Mammok, a loyal aide to charismatic MC Oluomo, lost his life to an intense power play over who controls the highly lucrative transport union.
According eyewitness reports from Punch, it was alleged that he was dragged out of the salon where he had gone to have his hair cut to his car where they opened fire on him and dumped his body on his car without stealing the money on him.
“He went there with another friend, who did not enter the salon. He was cutting the hair when three guys, who wore black shirts, came into the salon and opened fire on him. He struggled with them for some time, but they overpowered him. They rained bullets on him. One of them shot him in the head and he slumped.”
A resident, John, said the victim was dragged out by his assailants, who dumped his corpse on his car, which was parked a few metres away. Adding that only his gold chain was stolen but the money on him was not taken.
