In the showbiz industry, especially in the movie
industry, fans tend to call actors with names of characters they play in
films. Over time, these names stick to the actors and even when efforts
are made to stop the trend, they don’t yield good results.
Examples abound in the Yoruba film industry like Iya Rainbow (Idowu Philips), Ogogo (Taiwo Hassan), Olaiya Igwe (Ebun Oloyede), Pa Kasunmu (Kayode Odumosu) and many others.
Ronke Odusanya, popularly known has 'Flakky Ididowo', got this name in a flick she acted in some years ago. Today, some of her fans hardly remember her real name because she is well known as Flakky Ididowo’, which loosely means ‘Flakky used her backside to make money.’
The actress shared her experience with a fan of hers, who argued with her over her name, claiming she is not Ronke Odusanya but Flakky Ididowo.
Ronke said the incident got her thinking and confused, but stressed that it surprises her why someone would argue with her over her name.
