It is no longer news that this is not the best of times for popular Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, whose house in Lekki Phase 1 was gutted by fire on Thursday, June 25, 2015. She lost virtually all she had worked for over the years in the inferno.
The Onga seasoning ambassador, we learnt, was on location of the much-anticipated ‘Do-Good’ series, where she is acting alongside BasorgeTariah Jr, when the incident occurred.
An insider informed that neighbours noticed smoke coming out from her apartment and they quickly called her to notify her of the fire. She was said to have quickly rushed to her house, which was already engulfed by fire.
Prior to the unfortunate incident, the single mother of one was spotted at the album listening party of JJC, which was held at the Industry Night on Wednesday night at Spice Route Victoria Island.
After enjoying the night at the event, We saw Kate being accompanied out of the club by JJC's manager, Steve Osagie, at about 1.30am.
An eyewitness said efforts to quench the fire on Thursday could not help the situation.
Corroborating the report, one of the colleagues of the actress said, “Her room started to burn first, then it burnt down completely everything she’s got in this world. It was a sad thing to watch your property going down.
“The situation was helpless. We couldn’t look the actress in the face. She was more than devastated. Everyone at the scene was distraught.”
Kate has since parked what is left of her belongings and moved out of the burnt apartment.
