55-year-old Mrs Ayoka Buhari corpse, which was being managed by the TOS Funerals in the Gbagada General Hospital is missing.
Mrs Buhari was said to have passed on after a brief illness in the Mowe area of Ogun State.
Every arrangement needed for the successful burial had been done with friends around to condole the bereaved family members who gathered for her interment in the family compound on Thursday when the news of the missing corpse broke out.
It was reliably gathered that the corpse was erroneously exchange for another.
Relative of the deceased, Folorunsho Adeoluwa has threatened legal action on the owners of the morgue and expressed much dissatisfaction over the incident after seeing the corpse and raised the alarm that it was not Mrs Ayoka Buhari.
The deceased husband and other family members who rushed out to pick the corpse from a man suspected to have Mrs Buhari’s Corpse as a mistakenly exchange, got confused as the proposed corpse had been buried.
According to the suspected man with the swapped corpse, “my wife had been buried and I cannot exhume her body unless there’s pictorial evidence.
But, It was reported that the spokesperson for the morgue, identified simply as Olumide, allegedly said the corpse had been found and the family was going for the burial around 7pm as there was undue miss up.
“There was just a mix up, which has been sorted out. I am with the family, we are on our way to bury the corpse.” he said.
