TWO OYO PILGRIMS ARRESTED BY SAUDI AUTHORITIES

Oyo state has disclosed that two of its indigenes of the 1,191 pilgrims from the state have been arrested by Saudi Authorities following drug-related offences discovered.
The Secretary, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Adeleke AbdulKareem, who made this
disclosure on Tuesday, said the suspects were women, adding that while one of them had been detained, the other escaped.
He said Tramador, a contraband drug in Saudi Arabia, against which the pilgrims had been warned, was found on the pilgrims, prompting their arrest.
He advised pilgrims to always comply with the rules and regulation of the Saudi authorities to avoid being arrested or tarnishing the country’s image.
