FCT TRAFFIC RULES MUST BE OBEYED - DRTS CHIEF


FCT traffic rules must be obeyed - DRTS Chief

The Acting Director, Directorate of Road Traffic Service, Federal Capital Territory, Engr. Wa­data Aliyu Bidinga, said all motorists that operates with­in the capital must obeyed the traffic
rules.
Just as NYSC Batch B members serving in the FCT have unveiled a sign post along Abuja Lokoja road in Gwagwalada to ease traffic on the axis.
Bidinga said the FCT Ad­ministration’s traffic laws must be strictly followed in order to ease vehicular mo­ment and other activities around the city Centres.
He described the indis­criminate parking of vehicles on roads and walk ways in FCT as gross indiscipline, encroachment on public right to use of walkways and unacceptable in the nation’s capital.
In an interaction with some journalists in Abuja, the director emphasised the need for all the stakeholders to work together for achiev­ing safety on all routes in and
Abuja.
According to him, the pre­dicament has necessitated the ongoing awareness and enlightenment campaign embarked upon by the di­rectorate of Road Traffic Ser­vices in collaboration with all the stakeholders in transport sector.
The Acting Director, ad­vised the entire public and drivers to avoid the abandon­ing of their vehicles on the illegal parking area in FCT, contravening the already stipulated Traffic manage­ment laws in FCT.
He further revealed that the FCT Minister, Mallam Mohammed Bello has given a marching order to the Di­rectorate of Road Traffic Ser­vices to maintain a zero toler­ance pin down and clearance of non-complying vehicles on all major Roads and walk ways in FCT.
